Visualization Techniques for the Analysis of Multivariate Real-time Data
The amount of data produced in industry is constantly increasing and becomes more and more difficult to analyze and understand. New visual methods are needed to meet this challenge. This research direction focuses on developing visualization techniques for analysis of multivariate real-time data. One research area is concerned with the development of efficient techniques suitable for detecting complex relationships in large data sets. Research is also conducted on visual quality metrics to quantify loss of information in data abstraction methods. Furthermore, the research concerns development of clutter reduction methods for visual displays. Application areas include, for example, unmanned vehicles and maritime piloting.
